ELS provided UNMAS/UNOPS Afghanistan with operational and training analysis to design bespoke Hazardous Environment Training (HET) capability for over 300 Non-Government Organisations (NGOs) and training audiences of up to 80,000 locally employed personnel now working in Afghanistan. ELS conducted a Training Needs Analysis (TNA) remotely as westerners are no longer welcome in Afghanistan.
The ELS TNA confirmed the skills gaps and training required for the UN staff to deliver cascade face-to-face training throughout the NGO Train the Trainer community.
ELS built and provided 3 designed DSAT-compliant courses. These were HET Train the Trainer (10 days), HET Train the Main Operators (4 days) and key HET awareness brief (for all staff) of 4 hours.
Each training package included three separate Training Management Plans, aligned with UN International Mine Action Standards (IMAS) 06.10, IMAS 12.10 and IMAS Technical Note 12.01/01. ELS identified and created effective and nationally (culturally) accepted training course packs, translated into Dari and Pashto.
