Welcome to the Demand & Capacity Trainer Programme where we are aiming to train 300-400 trainers in demand and capacity planning over the next three years, starting in July 2017.

How it will work: We are planning to roll out the programme in 10 cohorts (staggered over 3 years) with 40 people allocated to each cohort. Within the cohort, there are 4 modules of different subject areas which require pre-module learning, classroom based learning, webinars and an Action Learning Set. There will also be optional online sessions after each module to support learners. Each course is conducted over a 6 month period.

To book a place on this course you must first complete the application form (see ‘apply for this course’ button above) once submitted, you will be informed if your application has been successful and that you have been allocated a place on this course. Due to demand, it may be that you will be offered alternative dates of subsequent courses, again, you will be notified of this.

Before you commence your on-line application, please have a look at the pdf version of the questionnaire so that you can familiarise yourself with the style of questions it asks. Also, it gives you a good chance to practice the written statement you will need to provide.

When you apply for this course, you will be requested to provide some basic personal details which are required to register you with the Institute of Leadership and Management (ILM) and for contact purposes by both ELS and the NHS to inform you of your selection for the course. By completing this area with your details, you are consenting to ELS using these details to register you with the ILM (for certification requirement), for contact purposes and that your personal information will not be used for any other purpose. Reasons for Applying

  • Work in an NHS provider organisation
  • Are either directly involved in Demand and Capacity planning at service level, or in a supportive role.

Upon graduation you shall obtain an official certification from the Institute of Leadership and Management as the Demand & Capacity Trainer Programme is a certified course, designed and delivered by an ILM Approved and Accredited Centre.

Action Learning Sets

Note: Compulsory attendance of 1 date – individual selection, the cohort will be split into 5 x groups of 8.
To support your learning, you will also have access to a dedicated Virtual Learning Environment (VLE) where you will find learning material, activities, resources and content to support you throughout the cohort, and after.

Live Training Session

The ultimate goal of this course is to provide the skills and training necessary for students to deliver training to others locally. In order to demonstrate this you will be required to deliver a live training event before you are able to graduate. The training event will need to be delivered to a minimum of 15 colleagues between the training module and the action learning set at the end of the course.
